filming- section of the live band
Today we filmed a large amount of our storyboard; we filmed the section where our live band play. We had a wide range of cinematography to do with angles, close-ups of both instruments and the band playing; also thinking of the 180 degree rule and not crossing. We also thought about the mise en scene. Thinking about the setting, we decided to film in PDH as it was the best place to film which look like a live gig, due to the lighting and position the camera could move. Also thinking about costume which would fit our stereotype of indie/rock music. I believe that the costume fitted the type of genre due to them wearing skinny jeans ect.

filming 1
Today we started to film, we successfully started filming a few sequences from our storyboard. We filmed many close ups of the TV; we are aiming to photoshop a image on the TV to fit our music video. We also filmed a section from our storyboard of someone smoking, these shots consisted of close up of the person smoking; also panning around the person to create a meaning of the person smoking. We aim to have all the filming done by Friday 16th October. we have a large amount too achieve but we have a filming schedule and i am confident that we will achieve our deadline.

filming
Unfortunately our group hasn't filmed yet due to some circumstances had arisen:
- We haven't put our hands on camera yet due to the actors that were meant to be in the video hasn't turned up to the schedule we had planned. we had schedule to film on the 30th September to film the band playing live. This is extremely frustrating as we have no progress on the filming side of the assignment. Hopefully we will start filming soon and get the filming done soon and start to edit.
ideas for the video
Video Ideas
Live Music Section - band shots
Follows Some Sort Of Narrative
Shocking Images - drugs, alcohol
Symbols (e.g. tattoo)
these ideas for our band would fit into our group because they all fit into the stereotype of indie/ rock and would allow us to fit the conventions of our video.

slide 3 temporal (chenmical brothers, let forever be)
This theory allows you to minipulate time of the plot; which means you can create a montage of events but allowing you to still make the video look good. this also makes the video look abstract due to the temporal order.
slide 2 spatial (chemical brothers, let forever be)

indie collage
This collage was a great help to our group, as it helped us understand the costume a indie bad wears. We looked at certain groups such as "the kooks", "Kaizer Chiefs" and "We are scientist". From this collage we could tell that the costume we are going to need for our own band are clothing like skinny jeans, shirts and skinny ties. We can also see that modt indie bands are male so we had to fit the stereotype of an indie band; so for our own we got to get male charcters that fit the band; also finding girls to be in our video.
story board

I believe that we started our storyboard really well, due to the fact of it introduces all the band members, also fitting Andrew Goodwins theory due to it creating a new meanng to the lyrics of the song. also using a range of shots such as close-ups, to establishing shot. Also using many transitions such as quick cuts.
example of my questionaire

This is my music questionaire i have given out to all kinds of students to understand what they enjoy listening to and also to see what their favourite genre people like. From this questionaire i found out a large amount of information such as who their favourite artist is and things such as what type of technology they listen to their music in, finding out if they download or buy the cd from the shops
R&b research

Due to my research i have gathered together i have found out that R&B is the most popular genre of music, so this table is a genre research of three songs chosen by me, i chose these songs due to them being fitting the stereotype of the genre and they applied all types of theories including temporal, rythmic and spataial.

song choice

As a group we have decided to use the song "nancy boy" by Placebo. we chose this song as they are an alternative rock band who are established in the music industry. we also felt that it would easily fit both rhythmic theory. Rhythmic theory are applied in our story board due to the shots being roughly the same length and it tells a story at the same time. Also creating a sense of excitment due to the lyrics being very easy to come up with ideas.
