DVD Front & back Cover

This is my final front and back cover for my dvd cover.Today i imported my photos and put them on the front cover ; also had the chance to manipulate the photos by using black and white, outer glow on both the photos and font. The font I have decided to go with was"Action with the time". I went with this font because I established that it was very visual and the name of my band being Vision. Using outer glow on the font allows it to really stand out and would catch the eye of my target audience. Also using black and white to allow my background to stand out; using this also on my magazine advert would allow the audience to recognize the colours and establish it with my band

DVD Front cover - progression

DVD- FRONT COVER

I have continued to create my front dvd cover. i have produced the background colour to represent my band name. Due to the name of my band being called "vision". I have created my background very visual using a collage of three colours. These three colours consist of blue, black and white. i chose these colours as white and black are very different colours, and the main colour being blue allows it to be very visual and eye catching.

Creating DVD cover for music video

As apart of our coursework we have been asked to create a DVD cover for our music video and a magazine cover. I have looked at our music video To create a piece of work; i have thought about the connotation and denotation and researched established bands of the same genre to gather ideas. with this research i have put a piece of work together that i believe fits the type of genre. I have thought about all types of mise en scene such as costume and how they are going to look, camera shot and what angle the band is going to be positioned at; trying to give off a certain image to the audience and appeal to my target audience of rock/indie genre.

filming- section of the live band

Today we filmed a large amount of our storyboard; we filmed the section where our live band play. We had a wide range of cinematography to do with angles, close-ups of both instruments and the band playing; also thinking of the 180 degree rule and not crossing. We also thought about the mise en scene. Thinking about the setting, we decided to film in PDH as it was the best place to film which look like a live gig, due to the lighting and position the camera could move. Also thinking about costume which would fit our stereotype of indie/rock music. I believe that the costume fitted the type of genre due to them wearing skinny jeans ect.

filming 1

Today we started to film, we successfully started filming a few sequences from our storyboard. We filmed many close ups of the TV; we are aiming to photoshop a image on the TV to fit our music video. We also filmed a section from our storyboard of someone smoking, these shots consisted of close up of the person smoking; also panning around the person to create a meaning of the person smoking. We aim to have all the filming done by Friday 16th October. we have a large amount too achieve but we have a filming schedule and i am confident that we will achieve our deadline.
